(sorry the photo doesn't do them justice)
As a child, I remember walking into grandma's house smelling the aroma of fresh baked apples and cinnamon. The recipe is my grandma's sister Hilda very own recipe. During one of my visits with my grandma , she gave the actual handwritten recipe to me. Joyce being the big sister she is had someone frame the recipe to protect the fray edges. After my grandma passed away years ago, I gave the frame recipe to my mom for her to have as a keepsake.
As I write this post the wonderful memories are adding a smile to my face. It seems like yesterday , I was sitting by my grandma's side waiting patiently for the pan of apple slices to come out of the oven and cool off just enough to take my first bite, but not before Grandma would surprise me with a scoop of ice cream on top.
Do you have any fond kitchen memories?
Have a nice weekend!
Warmly,
Jeannie

My memories are of Thanksgiving and Christmas at my Grandmother's house. All the wonderful aromas wafted throughout the house. She also decorated. Her love for her family was obvious by showing it in many ways, but especially delicious food.
Hi!! did you include the recipe? If so, I missed it.... they look delicious! My memories are also of holidays at Grandma Pizzolato's big pink house in suburban Scotch Plains NJ. She was an awesome cook and her house looked magical. I loved the festive ribbon candies in dishes scattered around the house. they looked so pretty.
OH PS If you wish to share the recipe, here is my email address
